1. B.C.M.S. Won the 2012 BRIMS Regional Bridge Building Contest!
On Saturday, March 10th, the Butler County Middle School bridge building team won the BRIMS Regional Bridge Building Contest at Stupp Bridge Company in Bowling Green. In the middle school division, B.C.M.S. claimed 1st place out of 5 schools participating. Nekayah Gray's bridge won 1st place for the 2nd year in a row with an efficiency of 1040. Her bridge was also one of only two bridges to win the Architectural Design Award. Shalyn Coleman's bridge placed 3rd with an efficiency of 711. All students who place in the top 10 in the competition receive trophies and the school with the most points based on efficiencies of their top 4 bridges wins a plaque. There were a total of 67 qualifying bridges, 8 of them belonging to Butler County Middle School. Other students with qualifying bridges were: Hannah McClelland, Ellie Moore, Harlie VanMeter, Ivy Donaldson, Joseph Phillips, and Drake Kinkade. Congratulations to all involved in giving B.C.M.S. its 12th win out of the last 13 years.

2. On Monday, March 12th the current 9th graders who scored Proficient or Distinguished on the Spring Test in 2011 as 8th graders will be recognized at a reception and awards ceremony at B.C.M.S. The reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the lobby/concession area. The awards ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the gym. Invitations were mailed to the students who are invited to this program.

The awards ceremonies will be held in the gym at Butler County Middle School.

Family and friends are invited to join us for these celebrations.

3. Reminder to parents that grade cards will go out this Tuesday, March 13th. 

4. On Thursday, March 15th STLP will be hosting a dance.  The computer lab will be open for computer games, board games will be on the top landing, Dance Revolution/Just Dance will be on the gym floor as well as dancing, and concessions will be available.  The cost will be $3 per person.
