BCHS Softball: Bears finish 3-0 in Owensboro Catholic Classic

OWENSBORO — Butler County compiled a 3-0 record in the Owensboro Catholic Classic on Saturday, May 4.

Butler County 3, Central Hardin 0 (6 innings): Behind a three-hit shutout from pitcher Shelby McDaniel, Butler County blanked Central Hardin 3-0 in the Owensboro Catholic Classic on Saturday, May 4. 

McDaniel pitched six innings and claimed the win in the circle.

Butler County scored three runs on six hits. Madison Clark (two hits, two RBIs), Mia Thomas (one hit, one RBI), Karrington Hunt (one hit), Taylor Smith (one hit) and Addison Miller (one hit) each contributed offensively for Butler County in its shutout win.   

 

Butler County 8, Lyon County 5 (6 innings): Butler County beat Lyon County 8-5 in the Owensboro Catholic Classic on Saturday, May 4. 

Mia Thomas started in the circle for Butler County and notched the win. 

Pitching in relief for Butler County, Miley Franzell claimed the save.

Butler County scored eight runs on 13 hits. Thomas (two hits, three RBIs), Franzell (one hit), Madison Jones (two hits, one RBI), Parker Willoughby (two hits, one RBI), Madison Clark (two hits), Addison Miller (two hits), Taylor Smith (one hit, two RBIs) and Karrington Hunt (one hit, one RBI) each delivered offensively for the Bears. Willoughby doubled and tripled in Butler County's victory.  

 

Butler County 3, Breckinridge County 2 (6 innings): Determined Butler County outlasted Breckinridge County 3-2 in the Owensboro Catholic Classic on Saturday, May 4.  

Miley Franzell started in the circle for Butler County and claimed the win. Franzell pitched five innings and struck out one Breckinridge County batter. 

Following Franzell, Mia Thomas closed out the game in the circle for Butler County and secured the save. 

Butler County pushed across three runs on six hits. Franzell (one hit, one RBI), Thomas (one hit), Karrington Hunt (two hits), Addison Miller (one hit, one RBI) and Parker Willoughby (one hit) accounted for Butler County's offense. 

 
Butler County turns back Allen County-Scottsville 
 
MORGANTOWN — Butler County pushed past Allen County-Scottsville, winning 13-7 on Thursday, May 2. 
Mia Thomas pitched in relief for Butler County and claimed the win. Thomas struck out two Allen County-Scottsville batters over two and two-thirds innings. 
Miley Franzell started in the circle for Butler County and pitched four and one-third innings. Franzell struck out one Allen County-Scottsville batter. 
Thomas (one hit, two RBIs), Franzell (two hits, two RBIs), Madison Clark (three hits, four RBIs), Parker Willoughby (three hits, one RBI), Karrington Hunt (three hits, one RBI), Madison Jones (two hits) and Addison Miller (one hit) were each productive at the plate for Butler County in its win.
