BC Bassmasters fish Barren River Lake

Butler County Bassmasters held their second Team Trail tournament of the 2018 season at Barren River Lake on Saturday April the 21st. The fish are moving into staging areas, getting ready for the annual spawn. Barren River Lake is one of the best lakes in south central Kentucky and nationally, having been ranked in the top 100 bass lakes in the United States in the past.

This tournament proved to be tougher, as the water was 12 ft over normal pool, flooding shoreline trees and providing the fish more places to hide. 19 boats participated in the tournament with Mark Norris and Dylan Norris taking 1st place with 12.81 lbs.,

2nd Daniel Cardwell and Nathan Neighbors 11.65 lbs.,

3rd Ryan Coleman and Tyler Wethington 10.81 lbs.

Big bass of the tournament went to Chris Phelps and Lora Phelps with a 4.89 lb largemouth.

The next BCB even will be an open tournament at Rough River Lake at the State Park Ramp on Saturday May 5th. Tournament starts at 6:30 AM with weigh-in at 2:30 PM. Entry fee will be $40.00/boat. Come on out for a great day of fishing.
BCB would again like to thank all of our members and 2018 sponsors: Southern Outdoors, Cabela’s, Beech Tree News, Jackson Chiropractic, CRT Sports & Monogram, and Interceptor Bait Company, for their commitment to the sport of bass fishing and our community. BCB is looking forward to a great year of fishing and fellowship in 2018.  For anyone wanting to learn more about BCB or wishing to fish with Butler County Bassmasters for 2018, listed below is their contact information.
