Sunday, August 7 was Monticello Baptist Church’s celebration of 211 years. The gospel group Living Proof, from Bowling Green, performed in the 10 o'clock hour. Living Proof consists of Allen and Heather Layman, Tina Barber and her husband, Steve Barber. They sang a variety of songs, as well as a few before the message at 11:00. They sang a revamped version of the standard hymn “At Calvary” sprinkled in amongst original material.

After the singing and the message brought by Pastor, Bro Randy Burns, everyone journeyed to the basement for a meal of chicken(the Baptist staple food) as well as various sides, salads, and desserts that were brought by members. All of the 144 in attendance enjoyed the music, message, food, and fellowship.
