9th Annual Festival of Trees

  Jenna Phelps

The holiday season is upon us and the Butler County Chapter NSDAR has been working for over a month to ready the Friendly Furniture building into a winter wonderland with 75 decorated trees or wreaths on display this year. The ideas continue to bring amazement with trees and decorations being made from some unique materials. You just have to see them. Local businesses, families and civic organizations have contributed to this year’s event.

Jenna Phelps takes a minute to look at the tree for the Moore Kent House. This is truly a family endeavor as both Granny Jane Smith and Aunt Gina took time to make sure this year’s tree looked more beautiful than the last.
The Festival is open to the public all this week through Sunday, December 4 with a fee of $2.00 per person, children 10 and under are free. All proceeds go toward funding the chapter veteran and student projects.
Viewing hours are Sundays 1:00 until 5:00 PM. Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Tuesday and Thursday will be Family Fun nights until 8:00 PM with a special visit from Santa Claus and door prizes at least once every 30 minutes. Santa is also planning a stop after the Christmas Parade on Saturday December 3
