2nd District Fire Department hosts debate event

On Saturday, April 21^st, the 2^nd District Fire Department, along with help from the Morgantown-Butler County Chamber of Commerce, hosted a bean supper for candidates and the general public. This event was organized to allow the 2^nd District Magistrate and Constable candidates the chance to speak and to answer questions.

2^nd District Magistrate Republican Candidates Cody Donaldson, Jason Elms, Kevin Phelps, and Democrat Candidate Josh Hampton were in attendance. Republican candidates Andrew Forbes and Jacob Hampton were not present.

2^nd District Constable Republican Candidates Andrew Gidcumb and Steven Wayne Johnson were in attendance. Republican candidate Dale Willis was not present.

This event provided candidates five minutes to address the large audience and field questions. It also provided the opportunity for the audience members to gain a better understanding of what the candidates offer and to cast a well-informed vote in the Primary Election on May 22^nd.

“I am very pleased with the good turnout we had for our 2nd District Magistrate and Constable forum," said Amy Gill, one of the event organizers. “I think all of candidates have one thing in common - they all care about Butler County and what our future holds to make it a better place to live.”
