2017 Butler County Field Day is for Everyone

The drone demonstration was popular with attendees at last year’s county field day. It was held in Rochester, KY.

The 2017 Butler County Field Day, on September 7th, will truly offer something for everyone in the family.  We will have demonstrations about forestry and forest lands management, dealing with nuisance wildlife like the opossum that tries to eat the fish food in my garage, how to be safe around underground utilities, and finally a drone demonstration by WRECC.  We will have an alternative program where Tommy Hines will teach about the history of Butler County using the Green River Museum as a backdrop.  Tracy Cowles will have a program that will appeal to both kids and adults called BCKY Rocks.  Participants will enjoy painting small rocks for fun or with a short message.  The rocks are hidden around our area, then you monitor social media to see where these Butler County Rocks turn up.  There will be trade show booths from several organizations including the extension nutrition education program.  We will finish the afternoon with a delicious meal prepared by the Butler County 4-H program.  There is no cost to attend the field day.  It is organized by the Extension Service and supported by many local agriculture organizations.  The program is being held at the Butler County Park in beautiful downtown Woodbury, KY.  Registration begins at 3:30 p.m.  The program starts at 4:00.
