2016 Festival of Trees Viewer's Choice

1st place-Chad Johnson's Body Shop & Wrecker Service

The 9th Annual Festival of Trees sponsored by the Butler County Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was a huge success. The chapter would like to thank all those who chose to support the festival by decorating a tree or wreath.  We would like to thank Bill & Vicki Freedle for the use of the Friendly Furniture building, a perfect location for the event. We would also like to thank those that were unable to decorate an entry but made monetary donations. Many thanks go to the local school system for seeing that over 700 children were able to view the trees as well as those community members who were able to attend. Thanks also go to special guest Mr. S. Claus for helping to make the event fun for all ages. Finally thanks to members of the newly formed General Butler Chapter SAR for help in the take down and clean-up process.
It is with great pride that we wish to announce the following winners of the viewer's choice:
1st place-Chad Johnson's Body Shop & Wrecker Service / $75 and White House ornament

2nd place-Granny's Closet / $50

3rd place-Graham's Central Station / $25

Honorable Mentions go to Cool Spring's Baptist Church, North Butler Elementary, & Bonnie Romans Memory trees.
Proceeds from the event help to sponsor chapter student projects, including scholarships, and veteran projects. It is not too soon to begin thinking of a new idea for a tree or wreath for the 2017 Festival of Trees. The Daughters of the American Revolution is a service organization, with membership open to any lady who can trace her genealogy back to someone who served in the American Revolution. For more information contact Butler County Chapter Regent, Georgia Lavern Romans or any member.
