Arrests made in connection with Gettie West Road theft

On August 1, Larry Cardwell of Gettie West Road, reported that his zero-turn mower and an air compressor had been stolen. Upon investigation, Butler County Sheriff's Deputy Chris Reneer and KSP Detective Josh Amos were able to locate both items in Caneyville. Warrants were obtained for Jarod Phelps (DOB 2/18/89) and Kayla Darity (5/9/93).

Polaris Stolen in Rochester

On Sunday, August 19th, at approximately 3:45 am a 2019 Polaris side by side was stolen from the home of Mike and Kathy Porter in Rochester. The Polaris was captured on a video camera in Rochester being followed by a black car.

Fiscal Court: 2020 Census, Tax Rate, and Roads

Julie Trovillion and Judge Tim Flener

The Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday, August 12 at the Butler County Courthouse. All magistrates, Stevie Givens, Kevin Phelps, Timmy Givens, David Whittinghill, and Dillon Bryant were in attendance.

Julie Trovillion, with the Kentucky Bureau of Census, presented a proclamation for the 2020 Census which was signed by Judge Tim Flener to help promote participation in the 2020 census.

Kentucky Farm Bureau Centennial Proclamation

On Tuesday evening, Mayor Billy J. Phelps – City of Morgantown KY, and Judge Executive Tim Flener – Butler County KY, joined Farm Bureau President Shane Wells to proclaim 2019 Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Centennial Year.

 Whereas, for one hundred years, Kentucky Farm Bureau has served as the “Voice of Kentucky Agriculture.” Representing the interests of agricultural producers and rural communities.
