Four Butler County High School students have been recommended by faculty/staff members for August student of the month honors based on attendance, promptness to class, participation in class, grades and attitude.  These students are Taylor King, Hannah Tomes, Hallie Jo Waddle and Jacob Richmond.

The Butler County NJROTC cadets attended the Paducah Tilghman High school 7th annual Tornado Triumph Sports Challenge on September 15th. The unit was split into two teams and the total attendance was forty-eight cadets.

The Butler County Band held their Annual Marching Band Festival on Saturday, hosting 15 bands. Bands included: Caverna, Russellville, Edmonson Co., Greenbrier, Franklin-Simpson, South Warren, Breckinridge Co., Warren East, Allen Co., Warren Central, Logan Co., Hopkins Co.

Lee Ann Daugherty, agricultural educator at Butler County High School in Morgantown, Ky. has been selected as the 2012 Kentucky winner of the Outstanding Agricultural Education Teacher award given by the National Association of Agricultural Educators.

North Butler Elementary is ready for the start of school.  They hosted an open house to get kindergarten students ready to start the year. Students received free stuff, refreshments and explored their room. Bus procedures were reviewed.
