William Eugene "Gene" Sutton, 90 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at his residence. The Butler County native was born September 2, 1923 to the late Ernest and Myrle McKinney Sutton and husband of the late Mary Sweatt Sutton. Gene was a World War II Navy Veteran, worked at Waddle's Department Store for many years and was a retired painter. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and daughter Exie Ruth Sutton.
William Eugene "Gene" Sutton is survived by one son William E. Sutton Jr. of Morgantown, Ky.; two granddaughters Yvette Sutton of Georgetown, Ky. and Skyla Sutton of Tennessee; one grandson Dylen Phelps of Morgantown, Ky. and five great grandchildren Brandon Waller of Bowling Green, Ky., Brandi Waller of Georgetown, Ky., LaDayshia Sutton, LaVonte Sutton and LaMontre Sutton all of Tennessee.
Memorial services will be held at the Morgantown Cumberland Presbyterian Church Saturday August 9, 2014 at 1:00pm  with Bro. William E. Sutton Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Bell Cemetery.
