Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 5837 Veteran of the Year: Tommy Dale Justice

Tommy D Justice was born in 1948 to Thurman and Lucille Justice in Warren County, Kentucky. He graduated from Warren County High School in 1966 and later with an Associate's Degree for Industrial Electricity from Bowling Green Tech.  Tommy retired after 42 years from DESA International, the last ten years he served as Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
He entered the United States Army in 1968 doing his basic training in Fort Campbell, KY and AIT at Fort Polk, Louisiana. He served in Vietnam from July 1968 to June 1969.
Tommy married Butler County girl Rita Faye Phelps in July 1969.  Tommy and Rita have two daughters Rebecca and Jill, two grandchildren Kaitlyn and Zack Wilson. They attend Cool Springs General Baptist Church. Tommy is enjoying his retirement playing golf, hunting and fishing.
During  Tommy's service in Vietnam he was awarded Bronze Star Medals, one in June 1969 with the first Oak Leaf Cluster and in June 1969 the Bronze Star Medal with the second Oak Leaf Cluster. The Bronze Star Medal Cluster with "V" Device in May 1969. Also in April  1969 and May of 1969  he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal first Oak Leaf Cluster with the "V" Device for Heroism in connection  with Military Operations against an armed Hostile Force.  Also 'THE AIR MEDAL "  for Meritorious Achievement while participating in Aerial Flight.
VFW Auxiliary Post 5837 is very proud to honor Tommy Dale Justice for his service to this country.
