Teen Clubs @ the Boys & Girls Club

Two new Clubs will begin in November for middle and high school teens.

Teen Girls begins Friday, November 7, from 7-9pm on Monday and Friday nights for several weeks at the Boys and Girls Club at 338 South Tyler Street in Morgantown. This is for middle and high school girls.  Activities will include volleyball, public speaking, free dinner and smart girls’ class (alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and teenage pregnancy prevention) and a money management class. 
The instructors will be Megan Folio and Shelly Nunley, WKU seniors and Destiny Phelps, a BCHS senior and ROTC member.  These young ladies are employees of the Club. 
Teen Boys begins on Thursday, November 6, and will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7-9pm. This is for middle and high school boys.  Activities will include basketball, public speaking, free dinner and smart teens class (alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and teenage pregnancy prevention).
The instructor will be Dustin Barnett, a Club employee and WKU senior and other volunteers who are good role models.
"Our goals are to build self-esteem, confidence, and independence from peer pressure and to inspire these young men and ladies to attain their goals in life, said Bruce White, Executive Director.
