Richard "Pa" Flener

Richard "Pa" Flener, 61, of  Morgantown, Ky., passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at his loving sisters in- law residence, Betty Wilson in Morgantown.  He was born in Louisville, Ky. on February 3, 1954 to the late Gavin and Estell Haven Flener. He was a retired timber cutter and loved fishing, hunting and most of all being with his grandchildren. He preceded in death by his parents, sister Virginia Adkins, stepmother Anna Mae Deweese Flener.

He  is survived by his wife Vonnie Flener of Morgantown; two sons Troy Flener of Saltlick, Ky., Marcus Flener of Morgantown; step-son John Howard and wife Francene of Morgantown; step-daughter Connie Howard of Morgantown; one grandson Braden Flener of Saltlick, Ky.; one grandchild on the way; eight step-grandchildren Allison Howard, Kelsie Howard, Alisha Howard, Joslyn Howard, Alissa Embry, Destiny Shepherd, Jericho West and Contessa Howard; one brother Larry D. Flener, Morgantown; one sister Patty Phelps and husband Roger of Morgantown; several nieces and nephews he called his children.

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 3 pm with Bro. Raliegh Blancett officiating. Burial will follow in the Flener & Howard Cemetery on Belmont Church Rd.  Visitation will be Wednesday, July 1  from 10 am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown, Ky.   Online condolences may be made at: www.smithfuneralhomeonline.com
