Rev. J.R. Craig

Rev. J.R. Craig age 85 of Elkton, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013, 7:00 p.m. at his residence of natural causes.  Services will be Sunday July 28, 2013 2:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton,KY with Rev. Donnie Wilkins and Rev. Roger Skipworth officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Todd County.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday July 27, 2013 at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton,KY

 Rev. J.R. was born in Kirkmansville, KY May 16, 1928 the son of the late John Floyd Craig and Bertha Higgins Craig.  He pastored for 48 years at many local churches and at one time operated Craig’s Barber Shop in Elkton.  Rev. Craig preached over 100 area revivals and in 2 foreign countries.  He was a member of New Cedar Grove Baptist Church.  One son Rev. Larry S. Craig passed away in 2011.

   He is survived by his wife of 66 years Polly Utley Craig of Elkton, KY, three sons; Richard (Mary) Craig  of Elkton, Mike (Jean) Craig of Bowling Green, KY, Tommy (Pat) Craig of Russellville, KY, one daughter Jeannie (Eddie) Grace of Greenville, KY 14 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
