Regina Davis Hood

Regina Davis Hood, 86 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. She passed away having had her family at her side, just as she enjoyed them in life. Regina was born September 11, 1927 in Drakesboro, Ky. to the late Carl Truman and Mabel Kimmell Davis and grew up in Louisville, Ky. before moving to Morgantown to start a Western Auto Associate store with her husband in 1949 (which continues today as True Value Hardware). Aside from helping at the hardware store, Regina was also a devoted homemaker. She was involved with several civic organizations including the Butler County Lioness Club and Butler County Literacy. She was an early champion in this community for students with special needs and involved with the Butler County Public Library. She enjoyed singing and was author of the cooking column "Memories in Measurements" in the Butler County Banner. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William James "Bill" Hood and one brother Carl Truman Davis Jr.

Regina is survived by her three children Rebekah "Becky" Hankins (husband Craig), Mark Hood and Amy Hood Hooten all of Morgantown, Ky.; six grandchildren Russell Hankins (wife Abby) of Bowling Green, Ky., Katie Flener (husband Kurt) of Morgantown, Ky., Robert Hankins of Washington, D.C., Shira Hankins of Bowling Green, Ky., Kelsey Hood of Morgantown, Ky. and Case Hooten of Morgantown, Ky.; three great grandchildren Layton and Weston Flener of Morgantown, Ky. and Ace Hankins of Bowling Green, Ky.; one sister Geraldine Fowler of Jackson, Tennessee; special cousin JoAnn Kington of San Francisco, California and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 1:00pm with Bro. Henry "Happy" Fowler officiating. Burial will be held in the Dan Johnson Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 3:00pm - 8:00pm and Wednesday from 8:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
