Radio Auction Raises $12,758 for Boys & Girls Club

Tim Coleman and Tom Jones

The Annual Boys & Girls Club’s Radio Auction was held on Saturday in the lobby of Morgantown Bank & Trust.  Tim Coleman and Tom Jones hit the air waves on WLBQ 101.5FM at 8:00am and the phones started ringing.  By the end of the auction the grand total raised was $12,758.  The auction raised $11,008 and $1,750 from Modern Woodmen.
“We want to say thank you to everyone that donated items, worked the auction, and called in bids.  The community response has been overwhelming,” said Bruce White, Boys & Girls Club Director.
“We had over 170 items for the auction,” said Phyllis Ray, event organizer.  We want to thank everyone that donated items.”
Originated by the Optimists Club to fund their projects, the auction continues today as a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Butler County.
The money will be used for the day-to-day operations of the Club.
