Rachel Louise Hardison Bowers

Rachel Louise Hardison Bowers, 98, of  Owensboro, Ky., formerly of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Signature Health Care and Rehab in Owensboro, Ky.  She was born in Beechmont, Ky. on July 19, 1916  to the late William Robert and Mary Baggett Hardison.  Mrs. Bowers was a Homemaker and a member of Union Baptist Church.  She loved sewing and embroidering but most of all her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents;  husband William Emerson (Jake) Bowers; two sons and their spouses, Harold Ray and Linda Bowers and James William and Glenda Bowers; one granddaughter, Terri and her husband Keith Ford; one great grandson, Jarrod Bowers.

She is survived by granddaughters Melissa Stringer and husband Robert of Owensboro, Michele Brown and husband Tony of Clifty, Melanie Spidle and husband Steve of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kelli Richter and husband Edward and Mandy Elpers and husband Brian all of Evansville, IN; one sister, Faye Doris of Owensboro and one brother, Thomas Hardison of San Diego, CA; sister in law, Billie Jean West of Owensboro; 12 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 1:00 pm

with Bro. Craig McFadden officiating.  Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 5:30pm to 9:00pm and Wednesday 8:00 am until  time of service at Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown, Ky.
