PFC McCoy awarded six posthumous service medals

On Friday, May 8th, Congressman Guthrie had the honor of presenting six posthumous service medals to the next of kin of PFC Curtis T. McCoy at the American Legion 734 Hall in Owensboro.
PFC McCoy was born in Leetown, KY in 1923 and was buried in Morgantown in 1945. Serving in WWII, PFC McCoy was killed in action during the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium (January 18, 1945). Receiving six posthumous medals in his honor was PFC McCoy’s younger sister, Wilma McCoy Porter of Owensboro.
