Ohio County man arrested after brief chase on foot

An Ohio County man was arrested on Tuesday in Morgantown after a chase involving police.
Police were dispatched to Compass Counselling on West Ohio Street after receiving a call that a client there had become agitated and uncontrollable. Morgantown Police Officer Brian Ward and Butler County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Reneer responded to the call. They found Robert W. Leary, 46, of Ohio County at Compass Counselling in disorderly state. After repeated attempts to calm Leary, the officers asked him to step outside the facility. Upon leaving Compass Counselling, Leary broke away from officers and attempted to flee on foot.
Leary was caught after a short foot chase. When he was searched by officers they found a quantity of methamphetamine on his person. He was then arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, fleeing or evading  police, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance, 1st offense.
