On Thursday April 17, the local first, second, and third place winners for the "Art For Heroes" competition on the high school level were recognized. Third place was Ty-Thomas Evans Houston, second place went to Destiny Phelps, and first place was awarded to Sylvia Hardesty.

Sylvia's entry is not pictured, as it has won the regional showcase and will be judged in the state competition in May.   

Butler County Post 5837 VFW Ladies Auxiliary  contributed generous donations along with the award amounts to the contestants. Third place received a $25 and a $50 check, second place received a $75 and a $50 check, and first place received a $100 and a $75 check.
