Leukemia/Lymphoma 5K Color Run

On Saturday October 18, Butler County HOSA held a 5K Color Run/Walk. The registration began at 7:30AM in the front parking lot of ButlerCountyMiddle School. Shortly after 9:00AM, the participants were led to the back area of Morgantown Elementary School where everyone was lined up and welcomed. The 5K then began. Along the route, numerous groups were set up with water for the participants. Other groups were on standby with their hands full of an extremely finely ground, colored, harmless substance that they threw onto the participants as they passed.

Although no awards were presented, the first participant to finish was Connor Glass. Following the 5K, a color party was held in the same area as the registrations. The participants were handed small bags containing the finely ground colored substances. The administrators of the event began a countdown which inevitably led to the small bags being tossed into the air, creating an effect of multicolored smoke as well as "coloring" the vast majority of the participants.

This event was held in an attempt to produce finances for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. Sources indicate that approximately 120 individuals were registered for this event.
