Letter to the Editor: Peggy Drake

Dear BeechTree News Staff,
Thank you so much for your participation in helping to get the word out about the Franklin Graham’s Operation Christmas Child.  Many churches and individuals participated.  Butler County people sent 1,170 shoeboxes this November! This exceeded 2014 by 328 boxes.  Kudos to Sandy Creek Baptist Church, they collected 300 shoeboxes, and Debby Young hosted a Shoebox party and filled 96boxes! What a wonderful spirit of giving.  Since 1999, (90 shoeboxes collected) when Shoebox Ministry was first introduced to Butler County 9,756 shoeboxes have gone to impoverished children all over the world.  This shows the generosity of Butler Countians to spread the gospel. Each year our gifts have increased.  You may never realize the blessing you provided.  At least four individuals from First Baptist will be going to Boone, North Carolina in December to work in the warehouse packing the boxes for overseas.  Our county is to be commended for this effort.  The collection station for this area is Forrest Park Baptist Church in Bowling Green.  They processed 14,670 shoeboxes.
Thank you,
Peggy Drake
