Letter to Editor: Peggy Drake

Dear Beech Tree News Staff,
Thank you so much for the articles about Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry.  Several individuals and Churches participated.  A total of 842 boxes came from Butler County.  This exceeded 2013 collection of 200 boxes.  Sandy Creek Baptist Church went all out with 271 shoeboxes filled.  Three other Churches approached the 100 or above mark.  They were MCC, First Baptist, and Pleasant Grove.  Since 1999 when Franklin Graham’s Shoebox Ministry was first introduced to Butler County, there have been almost 8,600 shoeboxes gone to impoverished children and war torn and poverty stricken countries from out county.  This shows the generosity of Butler Countians to spread the gospel.  You may realize the blessing you provided.  Please pray that your shoebox will lead someone to Jesus.  Our county is to be commended for this effort.  Out boxes were taken to Forrest Park Baptist Church in Bowling Green.  They processed 18,662 boxes from this area of South Central Kentucky.

Sincerely
Peggy Drake
