January Chamber Luncheon

On Thursday, January 22nd the Butler County Chamber of Commerce held their first luncheon of 2015.. The January event was sponsored by Embry & Watts, CPA's; Chad's Body Shop & Wrecker Service; Law Office of Richard J. Deye; PBI Bank; C&L Used Cars & Collision Center; SERVPRO of Butler, Hopkins, Ohio, Muhlenberg, Edmonson Counties; Morgantown Community Church; Logan Telephone Cooperative; Drake's Farm Service, Inc; and Morgantown Utilities. Catering was provided by Green River Catering.

Following the meal, Chamber President James Runion took the podium to welcome the guests in attendance and give updates. This spring, the Chamber of Commerce cabin is slated to undergo renovations. The renovations on the 30 year old building will include new stain and roofing among various other things. Runion also announced that this year's Catfish Festival will be held July 1st through the 4th. The Chamber welcomed a new member; Corvac Composites. With 204 employees, Corvac Composites is currently one of the largest members of the Chamber of Commerce in Butler County. Representatives from Sam's Club were in attendance with a request to join the Chamber.

Following welcoming announcements, Runion regretted to announce that guest speaker Josh Givens was not present; he was suffering from Butler County's latest round of influenza, and that the new Chamber website has been completed. The website is currently ready to launch, and will be launched soon. "Mr. Givens has been very hands-on with Yellowberri through the process of building the new site." Runion added.

Following the new business, tickets were drawn for prizes. Prizes included shirts, a prepaid debit card, a green basket, a car cleaning kit, among other things. Prizes were sponsored by SERVPRO and Chad's Body Shop and Wrecker Service.
