11th District Girls' Soccer Tournament - Grayson County 7, Butler County 1: Butler County was limited offensively as Grayson County pulled away to win 7-1 in the semifinals of the 11th District Girls' Soccer Tournament at Breckinridge County High School on Monday, Oct. 2.

The loss eliminated Butler County from the 11th District Girls' Soccer Tournament. Butler County exited the 2023 girls' high school soccer season 5-10-0.

Bears fall to Cougars on penalty kicks

MORGANTOWN — Butler County came up short as Grayson County won 5-4 on penalty kicks in the semifinals of the 11th District Boys' Soccer Tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 3.

Will Johnston scored a pair of goals to lead Grayson County in the district tournament match.

Defensively for Grayson County, goalkeeper Thomas Haycraft recorded eight saves.

Irvin Sanchez netted two goals to pace the Bears. Accompanying Sanchez in tournament host Butler County's scoring column, Everson Padilla and Jose Gonzalez added one goal apiece.

Contributing to Butler County's offensive attack, Braden McKinney pushed out two assists.

Goalkeeper Landon Beatty paced Butler County's defensive effort, recording 22 saves while allowing five goals.

The loss eliminated Butler County from the 11th District Boys' Soccer Tournament. Butler County exited the 2023 boys' high school soccer season 5-8-0.
