Henry B. Threlkel

Henry B. Threlkel, 91,of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at the Morgantown Care & Rehab Center in Morgantown. Mr. Threlkel was born April 5, 1922 in Butler County, to the late Carter Clay Threlkel and Carrie Myrtle Young Threlkel.  He was a WWII Veteran where he served in the US Navy aboard the USS Enterprise in the South Pacific. He was wounded in action and a recipient of the Purple Heart award.  He worked at Holley Carburetor in Bowling Green for 29 years and was a member of the Cassia Lodge #272.  Henry was preceded in death by his parents, one son Henry Clay Threlkel, two daughters Patty and Sue Threlkel, and one grandson Bradley Threlkel.

Mr. Threlkel is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lois Threlkel of Morgantown; three daughters:  Jan Morgan of Indianapolis, In., Betty Vance and husband Jimmie of Frankfort, Anita Minton and husband James of Morgantown; 2 sons Ron Threlkel and wife Barbara of Plano, Tommy Threlkel and wife Lesa of Franklin; 3 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, 6 great-granddaughters, 3 great- grandsons; 1 brother  C.M. Threlkel and wife Virginia of Elkton; several nieces and nephews; his beloved dog Mickey.

 Services will be held at Smith Funeral Home, Friday, August 30, 2013 at  6:30 p.m. with a Masonic Service to follow at 7 p.m.   Burial will be held at a later date in the Threlkel Cemetery.
