Henderson Named Emergency Management Director

Richard Henderson

The Butler County Fiscal Court on a 3-2 vote named Richard Henderson the Emergency Management Director for Butler County.  Magistrates Bobby Moore and Johnny Tuck were the two nay votes.
Henderson , a 23 year veteran of the United States Air Force, has a great deal of experience in the emergency management field.  He is a Kentucky State Certified Fire Training Instructor, holds FEMA and National Fire Academy Certifications, DoD and International Fire Service Accreditation Certificates, a Nationally Registered EMT, Intermediate Paramedic, and LPN. He is the currently the Chief of the Fifth District Volunteer Fire Department.
“Henderson , who has over 30 years of experience  in the field of emergency management, fire science, leadership, planning, emergency medicine and disaster preparedness, seemed a good fit for the job,” said Judge David Fields. 
Charlie Shields, Ohio County Emergency Management Director and Gary Fancher, the Area EMD Manager assisted in the interview process. 
“It is not about me, the money, or the job, I took this position for what I can give back to the community,” said Henderson. 
Henderson and his wife Roxie (Wright) live in the Fifth District community and have two daughters.
