Greg Drake II Speaks to Reedyville Rural Development

Greg Drake II spoke to the Reedyville Rural Development Club on September 17, 2015.  Greg discussed his 2014 trip to China with the WKU Confucius Institute.   Drake travelled with a small delegation from South Central Kentucky to Beijing, Langfang, and Tianjin China.

While there, they discussed the US food system, and especially food safety.  The group was also able to tour several points of interest around Beijing.

It is a 13 hour plane ride from the US to Beijing.  Beijing is 13 time zones ahead of Butler County.  New York City would be just the 7th largest city in China.  China is the most populous nation in the world.  China is the world’s largest importer and world’s largest exporter.

Drake also briefly discussed current efforts to attract Chinese business investment in Butler County.

Recently, a delegation from the Chinese Embassy in Washington D.C. toured Butler County.
