FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL: Bears vs. Braves

A strong Union County team will be making the long trek to Morgantown tonight to face the Butler County Bears in another important district contest.  Butler County (2-3, 0-1) is coming off a 52-14 loss against Owensboro Catholic last week.  Meanwhile, Union County (3-2, 1-0) defeated Hancock County 55-32.
Union is a very physical team that runs the ball well.  They have a big line that they rely upon to open holes for some talented running backs," said B.C.H.S. Head Coach Ryan Emmick.  "They are led by their quarterback and fullback, who both have run for a lot of yards this year."
Coach Emmick said the Bears must turn in a complete game in order to be successful.
"Defensively we must key their tendencies and do a good job getting multiple hats to the football.  We have to make plays at the line of scrimmage and force them off schedule with their play calling," said Emmick.
According to Emmick, improving his team's running game is a priority.
"Offensively, we must continue to try to stay balances.  Our running game has to get better production and we have to continue to get multiple players involved carrying the football," added Emmick.
Special teams, which has been an asset for the Bears' this season, could also play a big factor in tonight's game.
"We have had good production from our special teams and this has to continue to be a strength.  Our kickoff returns have to give us good field position while our kicking game must force them to drive the field to score," said Emmick.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.  The game will be aired live on the New "Q" WLBQ-101.5 FM.  Josh Scott will be doing the play-by-play with color commentary and stats by Coach Cody Donaldson.
