Embry Named Valedictorian

Receives Presidential Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence

Sarah Elizabeth Embry has been named a valedictorian of the Hope Christian School class of 2015. Hope Christian School is located in Pelham, Alabama, and the senior class consists of 120 students. Embry was one of 11 students selected to serve as valedictorian.

Additionally, Sarah recently received a Presidential Academic Award in recognition of Outstanding Academic Excellence. The purpose of this award is to recognize academic success. To be eligible, a student must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, as well as high achievement on state tests or nationally -normed tests, such as the ACT.

In the fall Sarah will attend Auburn University, where she has been awarded a full-tuition scholarship. In addition, Sarah has received a scholarship from the National MPS Society in Durham, N.C., for students and or siblings affected with a form of MPS. She plans to major in Communication Disorders and become a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.

Sarah is the daughter of Grant and Mieke McPherson Embry of Moody, Alabama. Her grandparents are Bobby and Doris McPherson of Morgantown and Bill and Phyllis Embry of Welches Creek.
