Compass Counseling Opens In Morgantown

Morgantown is now home to a new counseling and therapy agency. Compass Counseling, based in Bowling Green, has recently expanded their outreach by opening offices in Brownsville, and here in Morgantown. According to Compass Counseling’s Danna Wallace the company offers solution-focused therapy to help individuals through a variety of challenges.

Wallace said she knew Butler County was in need of another mental health service provider after working in the mental health industry here for several years with another company.  Wallace has a degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work, both from Western Kentucky University, and is a state certified social worker and alcohol and drug counselor. In addition she is nationally certified as a child custody evaluator.  She offers other services including substance abuse counseling, DUI services, anger management services, batterer intervention services, conflict resolution, mental health evaluations, in-treatment referrals, and marijuana education classes. Services are available to children, adolescents, and adults.

One interesting aspect of Compass’s services is their billing. “We offer billing on a sliding scale,” said Wallace. Wallace explained that through personal experience in the mental health field, she understands that many clients are under trying financial circumstances. “If you can provide proof of your income we will bill you on a sliding scale,” said Wallace.

Compass Counseling in Morgantown is now open at 201 East Ohio Street in Morgantown, just down from Master One Tax Services. Wallace said that as of now there are no set hours for the office in Morgantown. She will see patients by appointment and could expand to include regular hours in the Morgantown office. To make an appointment potential clients should call 270-904-0201, and in the event of a mental health emergency to always dial 9-1-1.

Wallace said she is looking forward to helping out in Morgantown. “I just want to help out this community, and I’m looking forward to seeing people here in our office.”
