Boys & Girls Club Celebrates Good Grades

On Friday, October 17th the Boys and Girls Club of Butler County had a pizza party to celebrate the good grades of club members. Of the fifty-one K-5th grade students present at the party 41 made all A's and B's on their report cards, and 21 of those students had all A's. The middle school and high school students at the club also continue to excel, but their report cards were not out at the time of the pizza party.

The staff that tutors the students during the daily "Power Hour" consists of 3 WKU seniors, 2 BCHS seniors, and 2 BCHS juniors. The cumulative GPA of the tutors is approximately 3.4 out of a possible 4.0. "Power Hour" is a daily one-hour program at the Boys and Girls Club where Club members can get tutoring and help with their homework.

Bruce White, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Butler County, said of the program, "We are extremely proud of our club members and of our staff. I think this proves that 'Power Hour' is a great tool to help our kids reach their potential."
