The Butler County Board of Education met in special session on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 6:30 PM at the Butler County Education Complex. Karen Evans, Debbie Hammers, and Delbert Johnson were present.
The board approved the job description and creation of position for Dean of Students for Butler County High School.  According to BCHS Principal Pat O’Driscoll the high school will go from two counselors to one counselor and a Dean of Students. 
“The Dean of Students will do evaluations and other administrative duties,” said O’Driscoll.   
Superintendent Scott Howard informed the board that Butler County is no longer a test site for the GED. 

“We will continue to offer the GED classes but students will have to travel to a test site,” said Howard. 

Josh Belcher, the new principal at North Butler Elementary, was in attendance and introduced to the board. 
“We are excited to have Mr. Belcher at North Butler Elementary and he has hit the ground running,” said Howard.

Beginning Balance: $2,346,971.98
Receipts: $1,716,471.67
Expenditures: $2,638,464.92
Ending Balance: $1,424,978.73

• KEDC FY 15 Groceries/Supplies Bid from Gordon Food Service
•  KEDC FY 15 Bakery Products Bid from Bimbo Bakeries (Earthgrains Baking Co.)    

•  FY 15 Ice Cream Bid from Brown’s Ice Cream Co.

•  FY 15 Food Service Pest Control with Leitchfield Exterminators

In their final action of the evening the board approved the bid for re-finishing of BCHS Gym Floor during fall break.
