BCHS Football Banquet 2014

Team Captain Awards- Seniors, Jake Martin, Drake Embry, Peyton Bratcher,  and Mason Barks.

The BCHS Football banquet was held Monday, March 9th.   Head Coach Ryan Emmick was the master of ceremonies, welcoming parents, family, and friends, in a look back at the 2014 season and to recognize the young men.   Coach Emmick was very appreciative in the never ending behind the scenes job done by parents and the Butler Co. Quarterback Club.
         The BCHS varsity football squad finished the season with an overall record of (7-4); and also went (4-1) in District games securing the runner up position and the #2  seed in the KHSAA State Playoffs. 
          The BCHS JV football squad went (3-1) on the year; with many cancellations by schools on the schedule. The BCHS Freshman football squad went (6-0) undefeated on the year.  Coach Emmick and staff recognized all players on the 2014 squad by classes; and the following awards were given:
Offensive Awards


Running Back of the Year- Blake Graham, Soph. Blake rushed for 248 yards on 44 carries and (5) rushing touchdowns.


Receiver of the Year- Drake Embry,  Senior; 26 catches-665 yards, (6) receiving touchdowns.


Offensive Lineman of Year- Peyton Bratcher & Mason Barks both seniors were co- offensive lineman sharing the award.


Most Valuable Offensive Player of Year- Rex Henderson, Soph. Rex had (12) rushing touchdowns, and (19) passing touchdowns. (131-263) Completions-Attempts and 2,033 yards passing.
Defensive Awards


Def. Back of Year- Caleb Deweese, Senior  (23 tackles/14 assists) (1) interception 


Def. Lineman of Year- Conner Reed, Senior (40 tackles/ 27 assists)


Def. Linebacker of Year- Dillon Kirby, sophomore & Jacob Courtney, Junior were co- Linebackers sharing the award. Kirby (70 tackles/ 19 assists) (2) fumble recoveries; Courtney (61 tackles/ 28 assists) (1) interception .


Most Valuable Defensive Player of the Year- Jake Martin, Senior (64 tackles/ 32 assists) (1)  interception, (1) fumble recovery.


Troy Tuck Award- named after Troy “Sally” Tuck, the founder of the original QB Club in 1966; Mr. Tuck worked tirelessly and was an avid BCHS football fan.  The Troy Tuck Award was first awarded in 1983, and is annually given to a football player who is a class act in every way possible both on and off the field.
Troy Tuck Award- Jacob Fugate, Senior.
