Arrest of Warren County Physician

(Bowling Green, KY.) On February 25, 2013, The Bowling Green Warren County Drug Task Force served a search warrant at the offices of Fred Gott, MD, 191 West Professional Park Court, Bowling Green, KY.

Following that search and seizure of the medical records a lengthy investigation continued.  The DTF working with the United States Attorney’s Office,  Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Office of the Attorney General, Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Division, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Drug Diversion Section and the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Office of the Inspector General, Drug Enforcement and Professional Practices Branch concluded the aforementioned investigation.

The results were turned over to the United States Attorney’s Office and presented to a Federal Grand Jury. As a result Dr. Fred Gott of 1638 Shaker Mill Road, Bowling Green, KY, Age 63 was arrested today at 8:00 AM in Nashville, TN  on a sealed indictment from United States District Court issued in Bowling Green.  He was arrested with assistance from Nashville Metro Police and the FBI and transported back to Bowling Green to appear in US District Court this morning.

Dr. Gott is charged with:

Conspiracy, Unlawful Distribution and Dispensing of Controlled Substances-Schedule II, Unlawful Distribution and Dispensing of Controlled Substances-Schedule III, Health Care Fraud (Upcoding), Health Care Fraud (Spirometry), and Money Laundering.
