Spotify and I were very happy for years.  Even through change on their part, I stuck with them.  Suddenly, my music got interrupted with gaps of blank space between songs.  After a few weeks of this, I became fed up.  After much consideration, I left Spotify for Pandora.  The first few weeks with Pandora were much like any new relationship: exciting and new.  After some time, that newness wore off. 
I decided to abandon Pandora, return to Spotify and attempt to fix the kinks.  I was using Pandora One, which costs $4.99 while Spotify costs $9.99 per month.  Cheaper service means, well, cheaper service.  Pandora quickly got to where I was missing Spotify.  My Pandora subscription runs out in a few days. I will not renew.
I decided to pose the question of those who’ve used both services, which one they liked better.  With the $9.99 price and access to all songs everywhere you go and on all devices, it’s really the only way to go, say two Facebook friends who are loyal Spotify listeners like myself. 
One of the things I was unhappy with on Pandora: you’re basically at the mercy of their playlist.  Sure, you can make your own stations. That part is great.  After that, it’s out of your hands.  Pandora programs the stations you choose.  Also, you only get a limited number of skips, so use them wisely.  If you’re a Spotify Premium user, you get unlimited skips.  Quality is the next aspect I’ll speak on. 
I mentioned earlier my initial problem of why I left Spotify for Pandora.  If I had to manually change songs on Spotify, at least the songs weren’t skipping as they played.  Later, I discovered that a recent update on my phone had turned the automatic function off.  Or maybe it was a Spotify update that turned off the function.  As soon as I turned it back on, everything was great.  I’ve since turned off Pandora’s automatic re-subscription and I won’t renew.  I have been and will always be Spotify through and through.
