Accident Results in Drug Arrest

Butler County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Reneer responded to a single vehicle accident at 5:30am on Caneyville Road on April 24.  Upon contact with the driver, Jordan S. McGaughey, (DOB 9/1/95) of 3520 Bluegrass Park Road, Louisville, Kentucky, Deputy Reneer noticed slurred speech, body tremors, and unusual behaviors.   After a search of the subject a plastic tooter with a white substance inside was found.  The substance field tested positive for meth.  McGaughey was placed under arrest and put in the cruiser but attempted to escape and was located a short distance away in the woods.  While in route to the Butler County Jail McGaughey stated that he swallowed a gram of meth prior to Renner arriving at the scene of the accident.  He was transported to the Medical Center by Butler County EMS.  After being treated and released he was arrested and charged with the following: operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/Drugs/ect. .08 first offense; possession of controlled substance first degree first offense; tampering with physical evidence; and escape second degree.  He is currently lodged in the Butler County Jail.  McGaughey also had outstanding warrants from Jefferson County.
