Color Guard (left to right) Courtney Childress, Ryan Hamilton, Austin West, and Hannah Logan

On the morning of Friday, August 28, the Butler County NJROTC program had their AMI (Area Manager’s Inspection). Butler County NJROTC falls within AREA 9 and is one of 56 High Schools within; Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, and New Mexico. The ceremony begins with Cadet Chaplain, Wyatt Southerland saying a prayer which is then followed by the Parading of the Colors, led by Color Guard Commander Cadet Ryan Hamilton; the BCHS choir, led by Mr. Travis Lowe, then came into the gym and sang the National Anthem. The AMI consists of the Area Nine manager, Commander Dial, coming to our school and inspecting our unit. The inspection also includes in place drill; the orders are given by our Commanding Officer, Cadet Emily Coy. The purpose of the inspection is for Commander Dial to see the unit and what the Navy’s funding is going toward.  We thank Commander Dial for coming to inspect our unit and we look forward to his next visit in 2 years.
